Printsuperblog3FOR THE CASUAL OBSERVER, acetate, coloured sunglasses was a trend that just suddenly popped up on the street. In fact, it all began in Italy, back in 2007. Daniel Beckerman was a man with an ear to the ground for indie goods and street fashion, and he became frustrated by the lack of diversity in stylish eyewear. He and his collaborators were inspired by rainbow coloured thrift sunglasses they found in flea markets, but those were flimsy, and didn’t tend to last very long; and so, SUPER, by RETROSUPERFUTURE, was born. Like any good buy, a pair of SUPER sunglasses is an investment. All of their products are handmade in Italy, and are noted for the use of sound materials and their very high quality manufacturing process. The folks of SUPER don’t make their own lenses, so they rely on their German counterparts at ZEISS to create the frame fillers that provide protection for your eyes, in all conditions. An international brand, SUPER keeps things spicy by collaborating with other design houses for extremely limited edition variations of their design; their last two efforts had only 50 to 100 units to be sold worldwide! These were just a few of the reasons that inspired us to stock SUPER at Lavish&Squalor. For the other handful, you’re going to have to come in and try them on, because words can’t cut it when the frame fits snugly against your face.
